Update:

For the benefit of all slipholders, a copy of the Wharf developer's books with graphic depictions of the Phase I, PUD Stage 2 plan is now in the laundry room. Please feel free to look at but leave the books there for other slipholders to also be able to review. This is similar to what can be found on the website but may be easier for some to access.

Holiday Boat Parade of Lights

Be sure to come down to the Southwest Waterfront's 7th St. Landing with your camera and warm clothes on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. to see Santa and the Tree Lighting Ceremony, followed by The annual Parade of Lighted Boats at 5:00 P.M. The SW Waterfront and Alexandria harbor will light up during this annual parade. Boats are beautifully and imaginatively decorated by their owners, who are competing for great prizes. These sailing and power boats will cruise the city's historic waterfront on the Potomac River.

Mikhael on Living on a Houseboat

If you haven't heard of the website, "People's District", wander on over now to check out Mikhael's take on living on a boat. People's District is a wonderful oral history project run by Danny Harris. He started it as a side project a few years ago to try and better understand the lives of the many people he saw every day in DC, but never had taken the time to get to know. People's District has become a full time job, and is a truly remarkable project. Check it out, and share your thoughts with Danny.
